Did you know that your separators/interceptors should be serviced twice a year for legislative reasons? PPG3 and EN858-2 are Environment Agency and European guidelines, which should be followed.
Both of these standards state your separators (interceptors) should be serviced at least twice a year.
Fuel forecourts are inevitably subject to wear and tear, from passing vehicles, fuel spillage or oil drips, which lead to a build up of unsightly grime and the development of slippery, potentially dangerous surfaces.
Petroleum retailers as part of their scheduled maintenance should have their gullies, manholes and tank chambers cleaned and emptied.
Octane offer a maintenance service in which we carry out all these services at the same time – reducing your costs and keeping your premises looking and working at their highest potential. To find out more about this call 0113 2012 460.
We also advise of potential problems before your fire officer inspection, keeping your site safe and within the legislative framework.
Interceptors, separators and drainage can easily accumulate silt and debris, increasing the risk of flooding and widespread contamination. Correct installation and maintenance is vital.
We have installed over 40 interceptors and are currently maintaining over 180 separators for large independent petrol retailers and small retailers under the guidelines and recommendations in accordance with the regulations enforced by the Environment Agency.
We can visit your site or multiple locations on a regular basis or as a one-off collection and empty your interceptors of fuel or oil-contaminated water and silt.
You’ll get a physical inspection of the interceptors including all mechanical parts and servicing of all electrical equipment (such as alarms and separator management systems) plus checking the condition of any coalescing device, replacing if necessary.
We can also jet clean units, connecting drainage and gullies; maintain coalescent filters, provide sampling and analysis of interceptor waste as well as install new interceptors, isolation valves and monitoring equipment.
Highly Trained Personnel
All personnel working on your site are trained to the highest standards. All carry SPA safety passports confined space tickets along with first aid and safety awareness training, assuring you that we are not endangering your site or customers whilst working on your premises.
We keep a detailed log of when interceptors are inspected, maintained, emptied and serviced and record specific events related to the separator system such as cleaning, repairs, accidents and incidents.
Full environmental paperwork helps you meet your environmental legislative requirements ensuring your waste has been correctly disposed of at a licensed treatment facility.
